New “Group Server” edition empowers project teams of up to four users with comprehensive project management tools.
onepoint PROJECTS, the leading provider of integrated project and portfolio management (PPM) solutions, has released a new, free multi-user version of its on-premise product. The “Group Server” for up to four users contains all base functionality of onepoint PROJECTS Enterprise Server without the ability to add optional modules. The new offering mainly targets startups and small project teams in larger organizations that have not yet reached a certain project management maturity level, so that an enterprise-wide deployment of a PPM software solution is not feasible yet.
onepoint PROJECT Group Server supports all essential PPM processes from project planning over monitoring and controlling to extensive reporting functions. Across industries onepoint PROJECTS is known as one of the most easy-to-use “real” PPM solutions. The new Group Server edition allows for a zero-cost entry into the onepoint product family while providing all out-of-the-box features of onepoint PROJECTS Enterprise Server, including interactive WBS and GANTT charts, a graphical project pipeline, resource and cost planning, and integrated cross-project resource utilization visualizations. The Group Server also features functionality such as email notifications and an activity stream in order to effectively support teamwork.
“In nearly every organization project management starts with individuals within one or more teams who simply need more structure for their daily project work rather than a broad initiative,” said Gerald Aquila, founder and CEO of onepoint PROJECTS. “We believe that with our new Group Server product project teams will be able to start with professional PM much sooner – at a time when it might already make great sense, but no budget is yet available and it does not instantly pay off.”
The Group Server project database is downwards and upwards compatible respectively to onepoint PROJECTS Personal and Enterprise Server. By using onepoint’s practical XML-based backup and restore functionality current users of the Personal Server can easily upgrade to the Group Server if they want to take advantage of onepoint’s team-based features together with other members of their project team. Additionally, if the PPM maturity level in the project organization increases and the project team grows both in size and requirements the Group Server can be transformed into an Enterprise Server installation with very little effort.
onepoint PROJECTS 12.2 Group Server is available as a free download from www.onepoint-projects.com as of today. Interesting parties can test additional functionality available in onepoint PROJECTS Enterprise Server and Cloud by requesting a free 30-day trial from the onepoint website. For more information about the new Group Server or for a full test of Enterprise Server or Cloud including all optional modules such as the bidirectional JIRA-integration, portfolio analysis, or risk management, please contact our sales team via firstname.lastname@example.org or +43 316 267 267 0.
